Cable MSOs and Telco’s provide triple play services namely, Digital Television, High Speed Data / Broadband service and Telephony voice services. Cable and Telco’s aggregate a huge volume of data from a variety of disparate sources. These include, real-time stream data, batch and micro-batch data and interactive data such as web clicks. From a cable MSO perspective, there are four main areas of business domains for data science initiatives that can be classified as follows. i Asset and Operations Optimization ii Sales, Marketing and Churn Analysis iii Cable Media Sales and iv Content Licensing and Programming Negotiations. In this talk, we will cover some of these aspects and what are some of the descriptive to predictive analysis opportunities in the cable and telco space.
